Chocolate Bread

The title says it all!  When you feel like you need something slightly sweet, slightly carbolicious and slightly chocolaty, this is the perfect platform!

I think this will be my last plantain based recipe for a while.  I had to do this last one!  I made a vanilla cream to put in the center.  However, I honestly think this would be even better to use as the top and bottom for either pb&j or almond butter and jelly.  What a great thing to use to make your kid’s almond butter and jelly sandwiches!


  • 2 slightly green plantains
  • 1/3 cup almond or cashew flour
  • 1/3 cup -1/2 cup dates depending on your need for sweet
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup avocado oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • t tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maca powder
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup nut milk



Put everything in your blender and blend until smooth.

  • Spread onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet and bake on 350 for about 18-20 minutes.
